An affordable USB-C to DVI Cable for straightforward conections, with no extra adapters needed!

This Type-C™ USB 3.1 to DVI Cable lets you connect a DVI-D display to your shiny new MacBook, Chromebook or PC via a Thunderbolt-ready Type-C USB socket.

USB Type-C is all the rage right now, with manufacturers rushing to put a Type-C socket on every new device that hits the market, but aside from the 10Gbps transfer rates and reversible plug design, many Type-C devices also feature Thunderbolt compatibility for AV output functions, effectively giving very flexible TV-out options on even the smallest devices.

If you have a Thunderbolt-ready Type-C device, this 1.8m cable can connect it to any DVI-D display, be it a TV, projector or computer monitor. It's all plug and play, without the need for special drivers (other than the ones bundled with your motherboard for you DIY PC enthusiasts out there).

Resolution support is dependent on your hardware, but 1080p should be available on most devices. Please check your individual device specifications or user manual for details on USB features and functions.

Product features:

  • 5 Year Cable Chick Warranty!
  • 1.8m USB 3.1 Type-C to DVI-D Cable (Type-C Male to DVI Male)
  • Requires video-ready USB 3.1 Type-C output socket
  • Supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz
  • Video only. No audio support over DVI.
  • Colour: Black

Understanding HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection)
Written on 11th Sept, 2024 by Cable Chick
You may have heard the letters HDCP strung together in an unpronounceable word before. Maybe you've seen it written on the back of the box containing your shiny new audio visual device. Possibly you've not been able to get your shiny new AV device to work and have been told "oh that sounds like a HDCP issue" and you've nodded your head feigning your understanding only to walk away from the conversation more confused than before. Well let's clear things up and take a look at what exactly those four mysterious letters actually mean.   [Read More]

All About USB Chargers
Written on 13th August, 2024 by Cable Chick
USB Charging is becoming more powerful and sophisticated. Where once you could barely charge your flip phone overnight, you can now fast-charge an entire laptop computer in a couple of hours. This improvement, made possible by the USB Type-C standard, means that USB chargers have also had to improve, but with those improvements comes more confusion.   [Read More]
Explained: Multi-Monitor Setups
Explained: Multi-Monitor Setups
Written on 26th June, 2024 by Cable Chick
These days, a single monitor setup almost feels like a punishment. The experience of constantly expanding and minimising windows to perform a simple task knowing how easy it would be with a second monitor is frankly archaic. So this must be what Marty McFly felt like in 1955. Now unless you're a masochist, it might be time to introduce your display to a friend or two and experience how much better things can be.   [Read More]

Bridging the Gap - Connecting Your Headphones to your TV

We all love the immersive experience of watching a movie from the comfort of our couch while an array of encircling speakers' envelope us within a wall of sound that transports us from our living rooms into the middle of the action taking place on screen. But as great as that is, there are times where this kind of set up isn't ideal. Sometimes, a more private and personal experience is required.   [Read More]

The Video Media Graveyard

In the ever-evolving landscape of technology and entertainment, certain media formats have risen to prominence only to fade away with the passage of time. Either the result of being superseded by a leap forward in technology or beaten by a comparable competitor, the transition from one dominant format to another has been a long recurring theme in the history of media consumption.   [Read More]
