For years we scratched our heads as to why you would need a HDMI extension cable - all by default all HDMI devices feature HDMI Sockets, and so the cables just need the male Plugs...

Application 1: Extending an existing HDMI Cable

Although our longer HDMI Extension cables are better suited to this task, there's always times when an existing HDMI cable is just too short for the job at hand. And while in most cases we'd recommend just getting the right length cable, and extension cable can be handy for adding an extra few metres in most situations. Just be careful when using HDMI extensions on already long HDMI cable runs. Just because you might be able to get a 1080p/60Hz signal working with a single 20m HDMI Cable, that doesn't mean a 15m + 5m Extension cable will work to the same ability (remember, there's signal loss every time you add another join into a cable run). This is why our HDMI Extension cables are sold in shorter lengths, primarily to be used as a 'cabled adapter', more than for joining two cables to make a longer run - a HDMI repeater should be used for such applications.

Application 2: Adding accessibility to an obscured HDMI socket

So you've got a TV or Monitor where the HDMI sockets are hard to reach? Or maybe you just need to frequently connect and disconnect HDMI devices, and accessing your HDMI ports is a pain - well this HDMI Extension cable is for you!

Simply connect the male end of your HDMI Extension Cable to the hard to reach HDMI socket, and leave the Female end in an easy to access location. Now you can plug and play all you want - Presto!

Product Review by Stephen,
Start Quote I purchased another couple of Cable Chick's cables, having been very satisfied by my previous online experiences with them. One was a basic quality 2m HDMI Male to HDMI Male Cable and the other was a Premium 2m HDMI Cable (HDMI v1.3b Certified). I wanted a basic cable for a second STB and the premium cable for my PVR and TV setup... and I can't resist shiny connectors! The shielding on the premium cable is thicker than on the basic quality cable, but as it costs more, that's expected. And the connectors are a step up in class as well, but one's choice depends on what one wants in a cable. Both cables do what they are supposed to do. Although my plasma monitor is pre-HDTV, it can process 1080i/720p signals via down-scaling. I replaced the existing component cables with the Premium HDMI cable and was surprised when there was a slight improvement in an already good picture. So I'd recommend either of these cables, with the Premium HDMI cable having more shielding and higher aesthetics, if that appeals to you. And as usual, Cable Chick's service was first class! Product Review by Michael,
Start Quote I recently went looking to find a 20m HDMI cable. I had tried purchasing one locally only to find that they were not available but was told they could order one in at a cost of $275.00 and this could take up to 2 weeks to arrive. I was not happy with that response so i went onto the internet and came across this website. not only did they have the product i was looking for it was only $99 with free express post delivery. I received the cable the next day and i am satisfied with the quality. Thanks for the fantastic service and I am now telling everyone about this website. Start Quote

Product Review by Nathan,
Start Quote I recently purchased a 2M Premium HDMI cable and the experience was been nothing short of exceptional. Bought the cable online at 2pm and by 5pm I had my tracking number for postage... the cable then promptly arrived around 11am the next day! You can really feel the quality in the cable itself also and the price was definitely right, saving me more than 50% from what I would pay in other stores. Will no doubt be buying more from Cable Chick in the future. Start Quote

Start Quote We can watch Television, DVD, Foxtel and my son can play his PS3 PlayStation without having to pull out plugs that you need an arm extension to reach to pull them out of the socket. The HDMI switch 3x1 is magic!!! Thank you for being a great seller and extra easy and efficient. Start Quote

Product Review by Peter,
Start Quote I recently required a HDMI cable and was quoted $200 from a Harvey Norman store. I found Cable Chick online and started my own research. I rang the office to confirm some technical points and was very impressed with the honest advice. I purchased the same quality product as well as an Optic Fibre cable and had them delivered the following day for a total of $77. I live 2000 km’s from their office so this was great. I was extremely impressed and have already started looking into other cables etc that I need. I won’t buy from anywhere else now. Start Quote

Product Review by Rob,
Start Quote I recently purchased 2 x 10 metres lengths of high quality HDMI cabling (for internal wall routing in two terraces I am currently constructing in Sydney) from Cable Chick. Ordering on-line was made very simple, and their website made navigation - right from product enquiry through to finalising the purchase - a hassle free process. My order was delivered within the timeframe that was committed to, and in excellent condition. Thanks Cable Chick … for at least making one element of the building process really easy ! Start Quote

Question: Will this work with a 5 metre "Redmere" active cable?
Answer: "Yes. Our extension cable is completely 'transparent' and should not interfere with Redmere chipsets in cables 5m and under. We would advise against extending Redmere active cables longer than 10 metres, though."
