Charge USB devices and peripherals without taxing your host system!
Provides 6x USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1) hub sockets, plus an additional 4 x BC 1.2 sockets for fast charging. Each port has its own on/off switch.
You've seen USB hubs before, but not like this. Not only are you free to plug in up to 10 devices, but you also get some special BC 1.2 charging ports for 1up to 1.5A per socket, backed up by a 48W main power supply that plugs into the wall and takes the strain off your host computer.
Some USB devices, especially things like cameras a hard drives, can be very power hungry. Providing enough power is simple if they have their own USB socket and the cable isn't too long, but what if you've got a 10m USB extension cable in the mix or need a few hungry devices to share your last available USB port?
That's the magic of this USB hub. The 48W charger means that power can now come from the wall rather than have to travel along a the USB cable from the computer end. No more slow charging. No more device failures or reliability issues. And at 48W, that's easily enough for a couple of smartphones or big, fat, mechanical HDDs!
Local Use
Works just like a USB Hub. One USB Type-A socket on your computer or laptop becomes 10 sockets for USB sticks, keyboards, game controllers, novelty USB cup warmer, and other stuff. Overloaded? Just use the wall charger to give everything a power boost.
Remote Use
USB Extension cables use the power available from the USB host to ensure the data can reach the distant device. This is good for basic stuff, but often leaving power-hungry devices starved. Sound familiar? This USB hub can sit at the end of an extension cable and thanks to its 48W power supply, any connected devices will get their full requirement of magic pixies. It's not a guaranteed fix for all types of devices, but if power is your problem, this hub has a solution that others don't. In this use-case, we would recommend using just one socket out of 10, since the extension cable is likely a bottleneck on data and only has the bandwidth for a single device.

Question:
Can you share movies from a USB hard drive? Will the drive be powered from the unit? or can it only share from USB sticks and SD cards?
Answer:
"Hi Matt,
From our description: "It can take an SD-card and a USB storage device at the same time, including flash drives and 2.5" portable HDDs"
This is confirmed on the packaging itself, however: keep in mind that a portable HDD will draw much more power than an SD card or USB. In combination with the Wi-Fi hardware, this may not provide enough power for the desired playback time - we'd recommend leaving the Wi-Copy plugged in for HDD playback."
