This optical USB-C offers a really unique feature on top of all the other nice-to-haves - it is bi-directional! This means there isn't a source- and display-specific plug like most other optical cables have, allowing you to make use of the right-angled and straight sides in whatever configuration works best for your specific setup!
The compact plug form factor also allows it to be used where some other bulky alternatives just wouldn't be able to fit, which solves the common issue of cramped port spaces, like those on docked laptops or the back of devices.
