A 'True Matrix Switch' works as both a Switch and Splitter, letting you send ANY of the connected inputs (devices), to ANY of the connected outputs (displays). So a 4x2 Matrix Switch can accept 4-inputs, and 2 connected displays. You can mix-and-match which devices are shown on which screens in any configuration. Simply amazing!
