Capturing the moment is only half the battle!

Waking up one morning and doing something wildly spontaneous is really good fun! But what's the point behind a spur-of-the-moment hiking trip or last-minute drive up the coast if you don't capture it all on your handy camcorder? Once it's on there though, you've got to get it onto your PC or a DVD and your only option is linking your devices up with a cutting-edge cable like this 2m FireWire 1394 6 Pin to 4 Pin wonder.

Don't forget, this is a 6-Pin FireWire to 4-Pin FireWire cable for use with all FireWire and i.Link enabled camcorders and computer devices. And at two metres, you'll have plenty of length for any connection job you need.

Features:

Question: Which cable do I need for my sony handycam DCR-HC26E to my PC?
Answer: "Like most digital camcorders, the Sony DCR-HC26E uses a Firewire cable to transfer recorded video data to your PC.

In almost all cases, you will require a 4 Pin to 6 Pin Firewire cable, as the Camera will use the smaller 4 Pin connector and the PC will feature the larger 6 Pin socket."

Question: Which cable do I need for my sony handycam DCRHC28E? I purchased a 4 pin to 4 pin and $50 later cannot connect the cable to my computer! I was told by Sony that I could modify my computer port!!!?
Answer: "Typically Digital Video Cameras (Camcorders) feature the smaller 4 Pins Firewire 400 Port, while PC's feature the larger 6 Pin port (some Laptops feature a smaller 4 Pin port also, so check if the port is larger than your camera's or not).

This would also explain why your 4 to 4 Pin Firewire cable did not work. You should be able to easily varify that your PC has the larger 6 Pin port just by looking at the socket."
