Set your lights or appliances to operate on a timer
This easy to use analogue timer plugs into any mains outlet to provide simple automation for anything plugged into it. You can run up to 240V 10A of devices, so things like LED lights can be combined onto one outlet or power strip so they all come on at the same time every day.
Operation is simple. Rotate the dial to the current time of day. Depress all of the segments in the outer ring that correspond to the active hours - down to as little as 15-minute intervals. Plug it in, and you're finished. Anything you attach will operate on your set schedule, and you can modify the schedule at any time by lifting and depressing segments.
If you have a power outage or it is unplugged accidentally and it loses sync with the time of day - just unplug, rotate the dial to the current time, and plug it back in. Your schedule is dictated by the segments, so that part of the set-up is always retained.
Common uses include simulating household lights when you're away from home, scheduling holiday lighting, limiting UV lamp hours for aquariums, terrariums and aviaries, activating appliances like coffee machines, power saving stand-by equipment like printers or televisions, safe scheduling of space heaters or air purifiers. If you're feeling particularly mean, you could even schedule your kid's games console to only be powered up from 4pm to 6pm - even on weekends!
