As kids, my brother and I used to play a game. It's the kind of silly game kids play, designed both for our own amusement and to push our parents buttons. On the way home from the shops we'd play our version of corners. This isn't like the usual version of corners where everyone tries to squash each other and cause various internal injuries to the smallest silbing when the car turned (Sorry bro).
This particular version of corners was only played when we'd been grocery shopping. Our parents had a station wagon with the large, flat cargo area. Dad, wanting to protect his pride and joy, decided to line the cargo area with lino. This did wonders for the carpet, it was still imaculate 2 decades later but unfortunately the lino was pretty slippery. So whenever we'd go around a corner, no matter how gently, whatever was in the back slid from side to side with a satisfying "thunk" upon making contact with the side of the car.
Our game, silly as it was, was to simply start chanting "smash, smash, smash" as we were approaching a corner. As we'd turn the corner shouting "smash, smash, smash" as fast as we could the groceries in the back would inevitably slide across and smack into the side of the car. Bags would break, jars would smash, soft drink bottles wouldn't be safely openable for another month, it was glorious! We'd eventually get home, mum would open the boot and things fell out on to the ground, she'd mutter as she had to repack most of the bags just to get the stuff inside. Much enjoyment was had, well for us kids anyway...
These days I kinda prefer that my icecream doesn't end up as a permenant interior design feature and I can't really say that car boot design has improved alot since I was a little Cable Chick. That's why I love these seat-back organisers! They're compatible with just about every car on the market and take about 30 seconds to install. Perfect for hanging handbags, headphones, backpacks, coat hangers, small children and even shopping bags full of delicious icecream.
