You don't have to be in a noisy airplane cabin to enjoy them, either. A whole swathe of low-frequency noise can be counteracted with this headset, from the humm of an air conditioning vent to the sound of an engine or distant radio.

The ear cups fold flat to fit more easily in your carry-on bag, and include a stereo audio cable, 6.5mm jack adapter and an air travel adapter as well! The 40mm drivers sound great, but audio quality does suffer a little when noise cancellation is active.

You don't need to run music to cancel audio, either. You can use them as earmuffs if you want to - but only around the house for safety. These headphones are not designed to protect your hearing from loud noises, construction sites, Hollywood explosions or the raccous din of an invading alien army.

Answer: "No, these are not wireless for audio streaming. They need the 3.5mm stereo cable connected for audio."

Are all airline jacks the same size? So if you travel on different airlines does this fit them all? - Posted: 11th May, 2015

Answer: "Yes, there is only one style of headphone connection for passenger aircraft (provided you're not in the cockpit!). Some really new planes may offer regular stereo jacks, but for all older model craft the included adapter should be the only one you need regardless of airline."
