Component signals and Coaxial signals usually have a maximum effective range of just 15m to 20m, these baluns cheaply and effectively increase the range of devices such as DVD Players, Blu Ray Players, Amps and Set Top Boxes.
Distances over Cat5e/6 and Resolutions:
480p Video: Up to 100m (total length including component cables at each end)
720p Video: Up to 75m (total length including component cables at each end)
1080i/1080p Video: 50m (total length including component cables at each end)
