What you use it for is extending the range of the aforementioned supported input types by converting their signals to transmit over longer runs of RJ45 network cable than is possible with standard cabling.

With it, you can extend your Digital audio up to 175 metres, your standard definition Analogue audio and video (composite) up to 300 metres, and finally your 720p and 1080i signals over 150m! That's a significant run – you could feed signals between two houses! Or, more likely, deliver audio and video in a commercial setting where you need to hide your devices and equipment in a back room and display the output at the front of a store.

The kit has the entire hub built into the wall plate so there's nothing to see once installed. It has a set of IR transmitters and receivers, mounting screws, removable cover plates and the all-important 12v power pack it needs to boost the signals. Some installation know-how is required, and you may need an electrician if you're not technically minded.

Note: This kit does not include the Cat5e cables necessary for linking between the wall plates. These can be purchased separately from our PC Network Cables section. This wall plate set requires 2 cables (stripped and properly installed as per instructions) for reliable functionality.
