DisplayPort is the new black! Get in quick and make the most of your Apple PC, laptop or netbook with a premium 1m DisplayPort ver. 1.1a Cable! It can easily output signals at 1080p and up to a staggering 3840 x 2160 (Quad HD) in some cases! It's the simple solution for running High-Resolution monitors over Display Port. As well as video, Display Port can also handle up to 8 channels of audio at up to 32 bit / 192K per second giving you a 7.1 experience equivalent to HDMI. The cable also supports DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection) so you'll be safe using it on all types of media.
Technical Specifications
The DisplayPort connector supports 1, 2, or 4 data pairs in a Main Link that also carries clock and optional audio signals, each with a symbol rate of 1.62 Gbps or 2.7 Gbps. The video signal path supports from 6 to 16 bits per colour channel. A bi-directional auxiliary channel (at a constant 1 Mbps) carries management and device control data for the Main Link. DisplayPort 1.1 currently supports a maximum of 8.64 Gbps over a distance of 2 meters. Please note that while all DisplayPort cables are created equal, the features you can use are limited by your source and display devices - please check your user manuals to ensure you're getting the video resolution and/or audio features you need.
