This DisplayPort to HDMI Cable allows you to easily connect your DisplayPort output device to any HDMI device, this includes all TV screens, LCD Monitors and Projectors!
This 1.8m DisplayPort ver. 1.1a Cable (male to male) can easily output HDMI signals at 1080p and is a simple solution for converting DisplayPort signals to HDMI. The adaptor also fully supports HDCP 1.2 and DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection). Full HDMI audio is supported and the cable is capable of tranfering 8 channel audio in common 7.1 HD audio formats such as Dolby True HD and DTs HD Master Audio.
DisplayPort is the latest type of digital connection on the market and Display Port cables and adaptors are designed to be compatible with all types of signals (VGA, DVI & HDMI). Please note that Display Port cables and adaptors are always compatible with these signals, your Display Port device, eg. video card or laptop, needs to be capable of outputting the different types of signal. Not all Display Port devices are currently capable of outputting HDMI, DVI or VGA so look for the D++ symbol on your product to ensure compatibility.
Technical Information
The DisplayPort connector supports 1, 2, or 4 data pairs in a Main Link that also carries clock and optional audio signals, each with a symbol rate of 1.62 Gbps or 2.7 Gbps. It is not always nessarsary for all the links to be functioning, for example, a 720p TV screen would only need to use one of the data pairs, not 4. The video signal path supports from 6 to 16 bits per colour channel. A bi-directional auxiliary channel (at a constant 1 Mbps) carries management and device control data for the Main Link. Display Port currently supports a maximum of 10.8 Gbps over a distance of 2 meters.
